On 4th October 2014 7 teams left Alicante, Spain for one of the world’s toughest sailing races- the longest sporting event in the world. After more than 8 months racing around the globe, the twelfth Volvo Ocean Race ends this week in Gothenburg – Sweden. By then the competing boats will have covered 39,000 nautical miles and visited more than 10 ports around the world.
